As part of the project “We Cross Borders”, funded by the European territorial cooperation program Interreg “Greece – Republic of Northern Macedonia 2014 – 2020”, the 4th meeting of the project guidance committee took place on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.
The project “We Cross Borders” is about modernizing and improving infrastructure at the Evzones and Bogorodica border stations and aims to improve customs services, both to the citizens and businesses of the two neighboring countries, as well as citizens of the European Union. More generally. The project is expected to make a significant contribution to boosting economic growth resulting from the increase in tourist flow between the two countries. The main object of the project is to create new infrastructure at the Evzones and Bogorodica border stations.
The meeting took place online due to emergencies created and restrictive measures in cross-border movement of project partners, due to the Coronovirus Pandemic (COVID-19). every partner. Specifically, representatives from the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia – Thrace (head partner of the project) and the Regional Development Fund for Central Macedonia from Greece, as well as the Ministry of Economy – Directorate of Customs and the Ministry of the Interior from the neighboring country.
According to the agenda of the meeting, the participants examined the existing status of the project as well as the actions/interventions carried out as part of the project in the last semester. Each partner referred to the actions and actions of the project planned by its side in the next half. At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the next meeting of the project was held in December 2020 or January 2021.
